M Hari Menon leads the India Office of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He also oversees the foundation’s work in South and South-East Asia. Hari is in charge of managing the foundation’s work areas in India, with an objective to improve conditions of family health, sanitation, digital financial inclusion, agriculture, and gender equality. He leads these efforts to advance the country’s health and development goals by working closely with India’s central and state governments, local and global non-profits, community groups, researchers, and the private sector. Hari has been associated with the foundation since 2006 (brief role outside between 2011 and 2013) and supported a wide portfolio of work in public health, especially in maternal and child health and HIV prevention.
