A.K.Srivastava, a veteran professional forester, was a member of the Indian Forest Service. He has worked as Director General of Forests and Special Secretary, Additional Director General of Forests (Forest Conservation), Chief Executive Officer, CAMPA and Director, Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal in the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. He had been ex-officio Chairman and Member, National Forest Advisory Committee, ex-officio Member, National Biodiversity Authority and Animal Welfare Board of India.He is working as Director General, Network for Certification and Conservation of Forests (NCCF), a not for profit organization, mandated for diverse conservation activities and development of certification standards
