Harshita Tater (born 28 August 2000, in Bengaluru, Karnataka) is a para athlete who has won two gold medals in the state-level Para Athletic Championship in 200 and 400 metre races. She recently won the gold in the National Para Athletic Championship 2021 as well. Harshita qualified for and was admitted to Bangalore Medical College; she is currently in the first year of an MBBS course. She will represent India in the Asian Para Games 2022. Harshita’s right side was paralysed due to an accident and medical negligence. In 2020 she burnt her left leg and was bedridden for three months, but still won the National Championship 2021. Her father runs a small electrical shop and she is completely dedicated to her dream to represent India in international events and is working towards it despite being prone to injuries due to her condition.
